The creation of jewelry can be a very environmentally toxic endeavor. Whether from the mines that harvest the metals, or the acids deemed traditonally necessary- jewelry is a dangerous profession!
I am lucky enough to be the one calling the shots in my studio, and I strongly believe that we should leave this world better than we started, not worse. So in my studio, and at my bench, I work to ensure I create not only elegant designs, but responsible designs.
In my custom designed art jewelry, I use only reclaimed materials, environmentally responsible chemicals, and conflict-free gems. It’s not enough for a piece to look good at the end- it should be above reproach all the way through.
