Art Glass Cuff
Knitting has been a part of our world for millennia. Women and men, weaving fibers into necessary objects of warmth, have created countless yards of fabric. As an artist who knits, I am swept away in the age-old tradition every time I pick up my needles. But delicate fibers wear and fade over time, and in this bracelet, I explore a sense of permanence by creating my knits in wire. Yet, behind every stitch, the ephemeral connection to history and the continuing beauty that is knitting.
Hand knit 14 karat gold fill wire is accented with coppery artisan glass beads, for the perfect elegant accessory. Measuring 2 inches tall, and 2.5 inches in diameter, this elegant cuff bracelet is sure to make a beautiful addition to every outfit.
This piece will arrive beautifully wrapped via complimentary shipping from my studio to your door anywhere in the world.
What is Gold Fill?
First, Gold Fill is NOT gold plate or gold tone. This interesting material is actually 14 karat gold fused to a brass core, is much more durable than plated materials. Where Gold plate has an extremely light coating of gold that almost instantly wears through, Gold Fill actually is 1/20 14k gold. Because this substantial layer of gold is permanently bonded to the base, it can be shaped, worked, and worn without any visible wear for years to come.
